In The Kitchen - The kitchen has long been a sanctuary of quiet communion. In this piece, the vibrant, layered space becomes a vessel for the profound, unspoken connection between a mother and daughter. There is a comfortable rhythm to their shared silence; one focused on the gentle rhythm of preparing food at the counter, the other instinctively reaching for a familiar jar on the shelf. They occupy the same space in a synchronized dance that requires no words. It is in these daily, seemingly mundane rituals that the deepest bonds are nurtured, generational love is conveyed, and an invisible thread of understanding ties them together.
Abstracting the Self: A Contemporary Portrait - When I approach self-portraiture, I am less interested in capturing a perfect physical likeness and more driven to map my internal, psychological landscape. My practice is deeply rooted in exploring feminist concepts, and in this piece, I am actively deconstructing classical forms to piece together a truer, more complex reflection of my identity. Instead of a traditional representation, I fragment the self into bold geometry, vivid color, and raw energy. It is an exploration of a multifaceted identity that refuses to be neatly categorized.
